The countdown

  1. Jun 2026

    Keys to 2140 SE Clinton

A former bike shop with a skylight and, it turns out, a very good concrete floor under the carpet.

  2. Jul 2026

    The press arrives

A 1926 platen press came up from Eugene on a flatbed. It took five people and a pallet jack.

  3. Aug 2026

    First print run

Two hundred boxes of cotton-stock notecards, printed in-house. Members get first refusal.

  4. 12 Sep 2026

    Doors open, 8am

Coffee from Rose City Roasters, and the press running all day so you can watch.

While you wait

Where exactly are you?

2140 SE Clinton Street, Portland, OR 97202 — between 21st and 22nd, on the south side. The old bike shop with the green awning.

Can I use the press?

Yes, from October. Bench time will be $28/hour including polymer plates, and we will run a beginners evening twice a month.

Will you ship?

Domestic US shipping from launch week. International once we have worked out how to pack a box of cards so it survives.

Are you hiring?

Two counter roles, 20–30 hours, starting late August. Email jobs@fernpost.co with a paragraph about yourself — no CV needed.
