I sleep at the house for the full engagement. An occupied home does not get broken into, and a frozen pipe gets caught in an hour rather than a week.
Cats, dogs, chickens, an elderly horse once. Fed on your schedule, medicated if needed, and never boarded away from the place they know.
Interior watering by your notes, and I will run and check the drip system — Santa Fe summers punish an unattended garden in about nine days.
Thermostats monitored, faucets dripped below 20°F, roof and vigas checked after snow, and a shoveled walk so the house does not look empty.
Mail and packages in daily. I will let in a scheduled contractor and stay with them, and I will refuse an unscheduled one.
Short, same time each evening, with a photo of whichever animal is being least cooperative. Silence from a sitter is the thing you should never accept.
Flat nightly rate for Santa Fe County. Half rate for the arrival day, no charge for departure morning.
